Our Career Video Library includes nearly 20 videos of Humboldt County professionals sharing career and college insights and tips, as well as a number of videos highligting careers in the Building Trades, and a feature on the Health Careers Exploration Summer Institute.
College Career Connect Program

The College Career Connect Program coordinates field trips for high school students to observeCal Poly Humboldt or College of the Redwoods classes in all different majors, and to bring Cal Poly Humboldt or College of the Redwoods faculty to visit high school classes as guests.
Education at Work Internship Program

This program recruits, prepares, and places 11th-12th grade students in work-based learning experiences. Students receive job readiness training for paid and unpaid, short-term work-based learning experiences or internships throughout all industry sectors.
Health Career Exploration Project (HCEP)

The Health Career Exploration Project gives students interested in health careers the opportunity to explore various healthcare pathways. Its anchor program, the Health Careers Exporation Summer Institute (HESI) is a is a 2-3 week long experience for high school students interested in health careers.
North Coast Cal-SOAP

North Coast Cal-SOAP (Student Opportunity & Access Program) provides financial aid literacy and FAFSA/CADAA completion assistance to high schools, helps high school students plan their post high school pathways, and coordinates college and career events.
Technology Exploration Summer Institute (TESI)

The Technology Exploration Summer Institute (TESI) provides high school students the opportunity to explore career fields in Information Communication Technology (ICT) during the summer.
Trades Academy

The Trades Academy helps high school students explore careers in the trades by coordinating field trips to trades businesses and bringing guest speakers into high school CTE classes
Transition Partnership Program (TPP)

TPP is a partnership between HCOE, high school districts, and the Department of Rehabilitation to prepare students with disabilities (IEP or 504) for postsecondary transition to career or higher education.
WorkAbility I (WAI)

A California State Department of Education program coordinated by Humboldt County Office of Education to promote career readiness and work based learning for high school students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Humboldt Area Foundation Scholarship Finder
Through the Scholarship Finder, students can access:
- Humboldt Area Foundation & Wild Rivers Community Foundation’s annual Universal Application, which houses over 160 unique scholarship opportunities through one application process!
- Additional scholarships offered by HAF/WRCF outside of the Universal Application
- Information about scholarship opportunities offered by clubs, businesses, and other organizations in our community
CR College Access Program
College of the Redwoods implemented the College Access Program to help California residents pursue their community college degree tuition-free. This program waives enrollment fees for eligible first-time students enrolled in 12 or more units and it’s now available for a second year! That’s a two-year degree – for free!
HCOE Financial Aid Hub
The Financial Aid Hub is where North Coast students, parents, and educators can find financial aid resources.
Humboldt First Scholarship
This program offers $1000 per year at Cal Poly Humboldt to first-time freshmen, graduated from a high school in Humboldt, Del Norte, Mendocino or Trinity Counties. Up to four years total.
Federal Student Aid – FAFSA/CADAA
FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Filling out the FAFSA or CADAA (California Dream Act Application) is the first step toward unlocking financial aid resources for college.
