Students from Northern United Charter, Alder Grove Charter, Eel River Community, and the Eureka Resource Center Schools were given the opportunity to get an intimate look at the ambulances Eureka City Ambulance (ECA) drive around daily. Volunteers from ECA came and presented about the myriad of ways the ambulances work and how they are used, as well as what is required to have a career as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Paramedic. AHS Student, Claire Monge, Gets Career Ready

Arcata High School student Claire Monge expressed an interest in careers in construction at the beginning of the year and our Regional Trades Education Liaison, Jack Sheppard made sure Claire was introduced to the right people to get her a step closer to making her dream a reality. Claire had the opportunity to spend a day shadowing various departments at Pacific Builders in Arcata. Eureka High Students tour O&M Industries

Eureka High School Metal Shop students had the unique opportunity to learn about careers in Metal Fabrication with a special tour through O&M Industries in Arcata. Two groups of students got to see the process of how a metal square gets manufactured into something useful. The tour consisted of a full demonstration of a project going through development and planning, through to engineering, then to the shop where the metal was cut out on a CNC Plasma Cutter, formed, and welded on the assembly line. Matt Bray with Evans Mechanical is at it again and this time he spent a full day at Fortuna High School, presenting to students from both East High School and Fortuna High School.
