Fortuna Community Center Construction Site Visit

Students from East High School had the opportunity to tour the Fortuna Community Center construction work site. DCI Builders, in Ferndale, lead the tour and were able to show the subcontractors in action. Many trades were represented on the work site including: framing, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and drywall. Northern Humboldt High School Students Learn CPR

As an ongoing part of the Biology and Community Health Classes offered at both McKinleyville and Arcata High schools, students were able to learn about administering Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on both adult and infant manikins. Training Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and Manikins were provided as a service funded by the Health Career Exploration Project (HCEP) in conjunction with the Education @ Work Program.
