Earlier this week, Jim Ritter and the Career Frontiers program in Northern Humboldt Unified School District joined forces with Jack Sheppard and the Trades Academy to take students from McKinleyville and Arcata High Schools to tour the new firehouse construction that is located near the Arcata-Eureka Airport in Mckinleyville. Students of the Wood Shop and Metal classes at Arcata High School were treated to a fantastic tour of O&M Industries, located in Arcata. Students learned about the company, got a lesson on creating a project with engineers and then were able to take that project and see how the shop fabricates it.
