The Trades Academy Mobile Trades Lab battled the rain at Morris Elementary School for a fun evening with Family Maker Night on Thursday, January 17th. Family Maker Nights take place on the third Thursday of every month and offer hands-on activities that incorporate the elements of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) with the opportunity for family exploration, collaboration, and creativity – which coincides perfectly with the mission of the Mobile Trades Lab. PG&E Visits Zoe Barnum High School

Students at Zoe Barnum were treated to a presentation by a PG&E Lineman on a wet Wednesday morning. Students learned what it takes to a lineman and were introduced to the Lineman Schools available as well as the multitude of job opportunities available in the power industry. McKeever Electric Inspires Arcata High Students

McKeever Electric created an incredible lesson focusing on electrical wiring for Arcata High School Metal Shop students. The day began with a discussion about what it takes to enter the electrical trade, followed by a lesson on electrical symbols. Students then rounded out the lesson by applying their newly acquired knowledge by assembling electrical circuits.
