Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Humboldt County Office of Education (HCOE) Career Technical Education Instructional Specialist (CTEIS) the employee will plan and deliver a wide variety of culturally responsive Mobile Makers related resources, activities and programs throughout Humboldt County in an HCOE provided vehicle in coordination with the HCOE Makers program, the Mobile Trades Academy, local Native American tribes, the Blue Lake Rancheria and additional consortium partners.
Examples of Duties
- Coordinates, promote and deliver a variety of culturally responsive “Mobile Makers related resources, activities, events and programs to school age students throughout Humboldt County in a vehicle provided by HCOE;
- Collaborates with members of our local Native American Tribes to design and deliver culturally responsive resources, activities and services;
- Serves as liaison between HCOE and the Pathmaker’s Consortium and attends related meetings and trainings;
- Serves as an integral member and facilitator of the Ideas at Work Middle School Camp team;
- Supports successful implementation of regional Family Makers Night programs and activities;
- Supports the alignment of philosophies and goals between the Mobile Makers Lab, the Mobile Trades Academy, local Native American tribes and the Blue Lake Rancheria;
- Orders, assembles and packages appropriate supplies and materials associated with the “Mobile Makers Lab”, Ideas at Work Middle School Career Camp and the Family Makers Nights;
- Works with the HCOE Communications Center to develop and promote “Makers” related resources, activities and events to appropriate target audiences across Humboldt County;
- Uses word processing equipment and inputs or retrieves data and prepares reports using networked computer systems;
- Tracks data relating to community volunteers, school/teacher participation, student/family engagement and more;
- Initiates independent correspondence for purposes of communicating about programmatic opportunities and scheduling;
- Maintains various databases used for reporting compliance with training;
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Maintain accurate records for program performance tracking,report submissions and audits;
- Follow oral and written instructions;
- Take initiative, as well as, follow the directives of multiple program consortium members;
- Use a computer for producing written correspondence and for maintaining data files;
- Modify daily/weekly work schedule in a reasonable manner to accommodate the needs of the program such as evening and/or weekend events, trainings, and/or meetings;

Education and Experience and Requirements:
- Graduation from high school or demonstration of comparable basic skills competence;
- AA/AS degree completion with Bachelor’s degree preferred;
- Prior experience in events coordination and delivery and in working with youth is preferred;
- Experience in an educational setting and working with and/or serving Humboldt County Native American tribes is desired, but not required:
- Must be able to maintain professional effectiveness and personal demeanor at all times including during peak work flow periods and within often restrictive production time schedules;
- Must be fingerprinted with a satisfactory DOJ records check;
- TB testing will be required upon employment;
- May be required to obtain first aid and CPR certificates within first 6 months of employment;
- Will be required to drive for work. Must have a current CA driver’s license, and proof of insurance and a clean driving record.
Physical Abilities:
- Daily oral and written communication;
- Speaking and hearing ability to sufficiently hear over the phone and carry on routine conversations;
- Operating a computer, calculator, copier and other equipment that involves repetitive arm and hand movements;
- Hand-eye-arm and finger dexterity;
- Visual acuity sufficient to recognize people, words and numbers;
- Reaching and lifting up to sixty (60) pounds;
- Sit and/or drive for extended length of time.
