(Eureka)—The 65th Annual All-County Music Festival will be live streamed from Arcata High School on Saturday, March 19th. The event is being presented by the Humboldt County Office of Education (HCOE) in partnership with the North Coast Music Educators Association. There will be no audience except for the musicians and their teachers. The public performances begin at 5:30 p.m. and may be viewed from the HCOE website. Outstanding high school musicians from Humboldt County’s music classes make up the performing groups.
The concert will begin with a welcome address and Senior Choir performance led by conductor, Jonathan Souza. A Jazz Ensemble featuring conductor, Dr. Dan Aldag will follow the choir. The Senior Orchestra with Dr. Alexander Kahn conducting will play 3 classical numbers, followed by the Senior Band under the leadership of Corey Tamondong playing 4 contemporary pieces.
The All-County Music Festival has been a long-standing tradition for Humboldt County’s high school music community. Music teachers donate their time for this even every year. It is an initiative sponsored by HCOE’s Student Events department. Events like the All-County Music Festival wouldn’t be possible without support from members of the public. Proceeds of local donors go 100% to the direct benefit of local music students. The Humboldt County Office of Education is a non-profit educational governmental program and qualifies for tax-exempt status by the IRS for purposes of charitable contributions. The program encourages individuals to donate to sustain the program and the endeavors of local music students. Supporters who donate will receive confirmation of their tax-deductible donation, as well as a thank you letter expressing sincere appreciation.
