College students: Get paid $16-17 an hour, up to 20 hours a week!
Do you wish that you’d known more about financial aid opportunities before starting college? Are you interested in gaining experience working with high school students? Do you have good communication skills? Are you motivated to help others? Becoming a Cal-SOAP Success Coach sounds perfect for you!
This is an excellent opportunity for college students to provide financial literacy and academic support to high school and transfer students. All the training you need is taken care of to coach high school students through the FAFSA/CADAA, scholarships, grants and more!
Sound good so far? It gets better. We are offering $16/hour 15-20 hours a week and we work around your school schedule!
This is an excellent opportunity for college students who are interested in gaining experience in providing high school students with support services. The program is in its second year of developing these services, and therefore, looking for qualified applicants who are creative, assertive, and motivated to help advance these efforts. Extensive training and support is provided. Position may qualify as an academic internship.
Under the direction of School Counselors and the Cal-SOAP Technicians, the College Success Coaches (SC) work as a team at their school placement to promote a college going culture. The SCs provide students with information, support, and services regarding financial aid, scholarships, and college awareness, in order to promote financial aid literacy and increase College going rates. Services may be provided via workshops, small groups, and individual sessions. SCs may also support other Cal-SOAP college and career events.
Depending upon placement at middle or high schools, the College Success Coaches may perform some or a combination of the following duties:
