Humboldt County Office of Education: City Ambulance Visits Fortuna High Students

City Ambulance Visits Fortuna High Students

Recently the students in Mrs. Dixon’s AP Biology and Biology & Community Health classes got the opportunity to learn more about a career as a Paramedic.  Sarah Grabeal of City Ambulance spent the first half of the presentation sharing about her career and answering student questions.  The second half of the presentation included a tour of the ambulance, and all the students got to see and experience what it’s like in the back of an ambulance.  The students and Mrs. Dixon thoroughly enjoyed the presentation.

We’re excited about the potential of the Health Career Exploration Project to grow and give more local students the opportunity to connect with professionals in the health care industry.  HCEP is an initiative under the Education at Work effort to provide opportunities to learn more about health care and investigate health career opportunities in our local community.  With your help, Education at Work is working hard to make a difference in helping students prepare for their futures, and supporting the development of our future workforce.

Thank you again to Sarah and City Ambulance for the excellent presentation, and supporting these Fortuna High students!
