Eureka High’s Automotive Technology class recently had the opportunity to explore the profession of auto body repair at Quality Body Works in Eureka. Students learned the process of how vehicles are repaired after a collision; including the different stages of repair the vehicle receives throughout the shop. The students were amazed by the modern technology that is used in auto body. They also found out about many job opportunities that are available in the trade. The tour finished up with a discussion about the qualities that make a person employable, and in the end three students asked for job applications! Thank you to Ross Creech for taking the time out of your day and providing an excellent tour. We’re excited about the potential of the Trades Academy to grow and give more local students the opportunity to connect with trades industry craftsman and businesses. The Trades Academy is a key initiative in the Education At Work effort to bridge what students learn in their classrooms to their career or higher education success. Education At Work is working hard to include many community partners from business, government, nonprofit industry sectors, CR, HSU, and local schools.
