Among the more essential workers in this time are the school nutrition employees, who in Humboldt County serve over 7,000 children every day, even while school facilities are closed. It is appropriate that May 4-8 is National School Nutrition Employees’ Week, which kicked off on Friday, May 1 with School Lunch Hero Day!
